I did it! Or rather I should say I am doing it! I am on my way to Philly. I am taking hold of my life. I am exactly 11 days from being 23 and the Take Care of Each Other World Tour starts today. The Take Care of Each Other World Tour is a means of collecting oral records from people and organizations principled in three things. The 1st is replenishing the ecosystems around them in all of the work they do, the 2nd is honoring the maker as plural, the 3rd is remembering the future. I am interested in learning from these communities and building them specifically in the fields of engineering and architecture, archival work, agriculture, and people working with cooperative business models. My name is Malikia Johnson and I am the co-creator of the Take Care of Each Other World Tour and I am on my way to Philly!
Part 2
Today is almost the end of day one and it couldn't have gone any better. As soon as I got to Philly I hopped on a bus to One Art Community Center built with love and intention. It. Is. Huge. They built two tiny houses that are beautiful and use some of the techniques found in earthships like the use of tires and bottle checkered walls. I have been interested in earthsips for awhile so this was very exciting to me.

I began by asking Terrence about the space and getting a tour of everything. I was sort of upset with myself for not recording it but I have made peace with the fact that I'm going to have a bunch of dynamic conversations that won't be recorded. Plus I have a set of questions that will yield similar conversations. We weeded a patch of the garden and only left the sunflowers. Then we planted watermelon in its place. We will see what happens. Then he showed me a gorilla garden that he is cultivating. He is growing kale, zucchini, strawberries, corn and more in an abandoned lot. Just plant and see seems to be his motto. I am beyond elated this is coming together. I am building the life I want to live, I am being who I want to be, the woman I am meant to be.

Hey Malikia! I'm so proud of you, and I love your passion, bravery and determination! One question: Does "the maker as plural" mean the feminine and masculine aspects of The All There Is (which some call God), or does it mean that we are god, co-creators of our lives - or both and/or more?
