It is so inspiring to see the lineage I seek to be a part of. Linda Leaks, an elder in the DC community who is a long time organizer of cooperatives in DC, quizzed me on the Black woman leaders on her shirt. People including Ida B. Wells, Shirley Chisolm, Frances Cress Welsing, Angela Davis, Queen Mother Moore, and Harriet Tubman. This quiz I interpreted as her saying, "You better remember who comes before you too." I have been brought to tears so many times through this tour because of the great amount of gratitude I have for experiences like this. I feel so lucky. Ms. Linda is so inspiring. Ajowa Ifateyo, Jessica Gordon-Nembhard, and Ms. Linda Leaks are all so inspiring. I FEEL SO LUCKY. I couldn't let this moment pass without naming it and without documenting the overwhelming feeling I have. I did this even with the risk of not being present. I'll go be present now.
